Testimonial:

“We invited Andy Theimer to speak on the topic of social media marketing, and we could not have been more pleased with his presentation. Andy presented on the topic, “Getting Things Done with Social Media,” and it was clear from his presentation that he had done research into the attendees, their
websites and their businesses and incorporated an attentiveness to their specific situations into his presentation. His presentation was energetic, clear and well-organized, and not only were attendees
taking notes during the presentation, but they also asked lots of questions afterward and kept Andy answering questions well past his presentation, and even the end time of the event! In short, Andy did a fantastic job. Thank you for recommending him to us.”

Overview

In today’s buzz-word laden market there are many choices when looking to add a dynamic technology discussion to your conference, event, or meeting. Social Media, Facebook, and Twitter, are all hot topics but with over 8 years of selling, marketing, and building community online I’ve found that most of these presentations lack one thing; the ability to give listener’s actionable information. My process is simple:

Research the attendees beforehand and determine their collective knowledge and experience in online marketing, social media, and SEO.

Create a pool of activities that could be done using websites, social networks, and online marketing tactics.

Identify the top 5-10 activities that will give listeners “quick wins”, tasks that provide high-value for a relatively low time & dollar cost.

Provide Q&A session to address advanced and additional online marketing and social media questions and concerns.

Provide each listener with a take-home cheat-sheet of noteworthy articles, online tools, and tutorials related to the presentation.

Rather than talk about what you and your audience SHOULD be doing I prefer to examine the companies and titles of my attendees before the meeting and apply the GTD (Getting Things Done) approach to what items in the online marketing/social media world will be the easiest, quickest wins for your group on topics such as website mechanics, advanced SEO (search engine optimization), local search, and social media. My presentation is focused on giving your audience tangible take-aways that will help them improve their business.
